i'm packing to go the other direction to montecito. good timing because it's getting really stuffy-hot here in l.a. i'll be working with robert rufino which i'm very excited about. my major issue now is that i have no idea what to wear to set... since my usual wardrobe is t-shirt, jeans and sneakers,
just wrapped a shoot earlier this week at a resort in laguna beach for a cover-try (pressure's on). it's an evening shot, so basically, we stressed out all day thinking of all the worst-case scenarios that could happen in that 5-minute window we have to shoot, then try to resolve them before they could happen-- styling choices, rearranging all the lounges a gazillion times, obsess over weather that dreaded "marine layer" would come at sunset, what cocktails to be in the shot (we auditioned 8 colorful tropical fruity things but did a last minute switch-out for a classic manhattan)... o, and the "umbrellas open or closed" (dane came up with a genius solution). it all went very smooth and a lil better than how i imagined/obsessed the shot to look like, which is always what i'm looking for.
